Dr. Daley. It’s a clever slate trick in which a message mysteriously.
appears on one of 4 slates that have been shown clean by the
Performer moments before. I have been using this for a long time,
and like it better than the standard set of two-spirit slates with the
movable flap.
At the Parlor of Mystery in Lindenhurst Long Island, we produce
a special Halloween show each year. Last year it was my turn to
emcee. I was planning to produce a message using Dr. Daley
method. However, after reviewing the other performer’s setlists,
I found that someone else was planning to use spirit slates in his
routine to produce a message. As the host, it was my responsibility
to defer and adjust my plans so that there was no redundancy.
So instead of producing a mysterious message, I used Dr. Daley’s
method to produce a spirit photo. I was happy with the way it
played and pleased to share my adaptation with you.

I’ve always loved the idea of the rapping hand, but have never liked the ones that I’ve seen in the past; they just seemed too contrived.
This version is the first one that I’ve seen that actually made any sense, so I knew that I had to add this to my arsenal, but I’ve learned that in the realm of bizarre effects, what you actually receive doesn’t always live up to the hype. Not this time…this is an AMAZING piece, and far exceeded my hopes and expectations!
